Happy Labor Day! The best part of having a holiday on a Monday is that it makes the rest of your work week shorter.
Linking up with Kathryn at The Book Date- the host of “It’s Monday, What Are You Reading?”
I finally read The Handmaid’s Tale and I loved it! So looking forward to The Testaments next week. After reading the ending of the book, I see now why people are taking issue with it coming out.

Believe it or not, this is my first time reading THE HANDMAID'S TALE! Atwoods writing is so poetic, it took me a bit to get used to. But I stuck with it and found it to be so gripping, so moody, and so spooky. I love the character of Offred and think Elizabeth Moss was a brilliant casting choice. I will say, watching season one of the show first has helped me stay in the story, so if you're interested it reading the book but haven't gotten into it, maybe try watching the show first. Oh, and there's a difference between the show and the book so it's definitely worth it to compare the two. Have you read this? Are you planning on reading The Testaments? #thehandmaidstale Also 100% for my peanut butter and jelly old fashioned. 10/10 would recommend.
I Finished Reading
Ayesha At Last | Uzma Jalaluddin | There is a lot going on in this diverse romantic comedy. It's sincere and funny- I really loved Ayesha’s character. There's a lot of build up and I would have liked for Ayesha and Khalid to have even more time together, but I think there’s room for a sequel. 4.25⭐️
Daring Greatly | Brene Brown | I drank the Brene Brown Kool Aid. I read this with a pen in hand. Its so well researched and not at all preachy- definitely happy to have a copy of this on my bookshelf!
The Handmaid’s Tale | Margaret Atwood | The writing took me a bit to get used to, but I stuck with it loved this brilliant story. The show is a great adaptation, so if you're interested it reading but can't get into it, try watching the show first.
The Whisper Man | Alex North | It’s been awhile since I read a thriller! This is a multi-generational tale of a father and son caught in the middle of an investigation to catch a serial killer terrorizing a small town. I’ve been hearing great things about it, and although I’m not far enough into it to have an opinion, I have high hopes.
